Yoncalla Chamber of Commerce

Meets on first Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the Community Center

President: Dick McHaffie  849-2499

Beautification Business

The Beautification Committee met last Thursday (1/25/07) and discussed several topics to tackle this year that will motivate folks to enhance their properties as well as the City.

The flower baskets have been planted for hanging in the Spring.  The group will be pursuing a more reliable watering method .  Between timer failures and the extreme heat last year many baskets did not flourish.

Some brain storming included “adopt a home” for pride day.  The group would focus on one dwelling that the owner cannot, for various reasons, maintain that may need a little “sprucing” up.  Another idea that was brought was actually voted on to take place this year.  It is a neighborhood clean-up and is of a competitive nature. Prizes will be available for motivating property owners.  Watch for advertisement and posters going up in February.

If you would like to be a part of this group, they meet the fourth Thursday of each month at the Library in the Heritage Room at 7:00 PM.
